Modeling morphosedimentary dynamics in a highly dynamic gravel bed river.

Bio

Ester is developing her a PhD at the University of Lleida (Spain). She has worked in the public and private sectors over more than 10 years. During that period she was supporting and developing GIS-based applications for multiples purposes such as flood risk assessment. She has collaborated in teaching activities including theoretical and practical lectures in the Master of Civil Defense and Emergency Management at the University of Valencia (UV). She has also participated in supervising student dissertations at the UPV. Between 2012 and 2013, Ester was working in the AGADAPT European research project (Climate KIC) at INRA (National Institute of Agronomical Research-Avignon-France). During that period she was deploying novel methods to optimize water use in agriculture by estimating irrigation needs and evaluating future water resources for agriculture at regional level. 

Since February 2014 Ester owns a research grant from the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. Her research is developed at the Department of Environment and Soil Sciences of the Universitat de Lleida (UdL) and included in the project MoprphSed (CGL2012-36394). Her PhD aims at modeling morphosedimentary dynamics in a highly dynamic gravel bed river: the Upper Cinca (NE Iberian Peninsula).
